We didn\u2019t finish cooking.\u00a0 If everything went right we would\u2019ve finished by 4:00 PM.\u00a0 It didn\u2019t go well.\u00a0 Into the woods by 6:15 AM.\u00a0 Had the R\/O going by 7:00 AM.\u00a0 \u00a0Had two batches into the milk can by 9:00 AM.\u00a0 Then started feeling unwell.\u00a0 Chills.\u00a0 Tried to work through it but by 10:00 AM it was obvious we needed to rest.\u00a0 Shutdown.\u00a0 Back to the farmhouse by 10:30 AM.\u00a0 \u00a0By 12:30 PM feeling better, but the R\/O was into its wash cycle.\u00a0 Then needed to cool.\u00a0 We were not able to fire up again.\u00a0 We will retry in the morning.\u00a0 Feeling fully recovered now.<\/p>\n
Returned to the woods at 4:30 PM to deal with the concentrate.\u00a0 Concentrate doesn\u2019t keep well.\u00a0 So we pumped back into the storage tank, then added R\/O water to get back to 2\u00b0 Brix.<\/p>\n
20 overnight.\u00a0 A cold northeast wind made the ground frozen hard.\u00a0 36 and sunny today but the northeast wind continued most of the day.\u00a0 The trees did start dripping.\u00a0 \u00a0Low 20s help stimulate that.\u00a0 Tonight is low 20s again but warmer, low 40s, tomorrow.\u00a0 The sap run should continue.<\/p>\n\n\n
