{"id":569,"date":"2018-03-16T18:35:14","date_gmt":"2018-03-16T13:35:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.mapleacres.com\/?p=569"},"modified":"2020-02-22T19:31:14","modified_gmt":"2020-02-22T14:31:14","slug":"lots-of-nitre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mapleacres.com\/?p=569","title":{"rendered":"Lots of Nitre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Into the woods at 6:45 AM.&nbsp; Even with the syrup pan washed and ready it still took an hour to prepare for cooking.&nbsp; The storage tank pipes were frozen and needed the heat gun to thaw out.&nbsp; The pipe into the evaporator was also frozen at the&nbsp; outlet valve into the evaporator.&nbsp; It was 9:00 AM before we could commence production firing.<\/p>\n<p>R\/O from 7:45 AM to 1:15 PM.&nbsp; 6 Brix.&nbsp; Doing a soap wash to see if we can get back to 7 Brix.<\/p>\n<p>From the first batch we had nitre on the bottom of syrup pan.&nbsp; Lots of nitre.&nbsp; Typically we get a nitre buildup by the end of the day and don&#8217;t have nitre most of the boiling day.
