Down to 25 overnight. \u00a0That was unexpected. \u00a0Started out sunny, but clouds moved in by 10:00 AM. \u00a0Later this afternoon it cleared. \u00a0Temperature up to 48.<\/p>\n

Into the woods by 8:00 AM. \u00a0Busy day. \u00a0Cleaned syrup pan. \u00a0Prepped the R\/O. \u00a0Started the fire. \u00a0Ran the R\/O. \u00a0 Had to empty a milk can into the finishing pan so we had room for today’s syrup. \u00a0 \u00a0Also managed the R\/O water. \u00a0 Filled everything we could and prepared water for washing the tanks. \u00a0 Tried to save and use whatever we could as dumping it doesn’t make sense. \u00a0Batches of syrup become ready much quicker with concentrate so you are constantly monitoring. \u00a0It was 1:30 PM before we could even sit down.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
By 3:00 PM our concentrate tank was empty and we were ready to collect. \u00a0 Picked up 510 gallons. \u00a0But a lot of that run was from yesterday. \u00a0 It tired to drip today but did not really get going. \u00a0Some taps are drying out. \u00a0 \u00a0The warm weather the next few days will not help. \u00a0 This weekend its forecast for a return to freezing nights. Hoping for one more good run for the season.<\/p>\n

Tonight does not freeze. \u00a0Tomorrow warm and rain possible. \u00a0Running an R\/O wash tonight. \u00a0That will take 7 to 8 hours.<\/p>\n
