Got a tank of water this morning. \u00a0Emptied all the sap from the evaporator. \u00a0About 16 gallons. \u00a0 Filled the big pan with water and cleaning solution. \u00a0Sap in the front. \u00a0Light the fire to cook the sap and warm the water with the cleaning solution. \u00a0In between we picked up buckets and covers and took spouts. \u00a0About 75 buckets and covers remain to pickup. \u00a0And about 150 of the blue 5\/16\u201d spouts need to come out yet. \u00a0Those spouts are harder to remove. \u00a0They grip the hole tightly and will break if you are not very careful and patient removing them.<\/p>\n
After dusk we stayed to finish and bottle the sap we cooked down from the evaporator. \u00a0It was warm so it was fast. \u00a0Small batch of 2 gallons. \u00a0Grade B syrup. \u00a0Tomorrow we have a milk can full to finish and bottle yet.<\/p>\n
Into the woods by 8:00 AM. \u00a0Back to the house by 9:15 PM.<\/p>\n
