We are getting a snow storm with 6\u201d-10\u201d of wet heavy snow.\u00a0 Its 31 so its a fine line between snow and rain.\u00a0\u00a0 It is snow so it must be colder in the clouds.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 At 1:30 PM the precipitation started.\u00a0 It was light rain then.\u00a0 By 2:30 PM it was snow.\u00a0 By 3:00 PM the snow was sticking to the ground and accumulating.\u00a0\u00a0 Its forecast to snow hard until around Mid-Night then tapper off.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
Into the woods by 8:15 AM to cook.\u00a0\u00a0 Around Noon made a water run with the tractor.\u00a0 Filled three milk cans with water.\u00a0\u00a0 Then tucked the tractor in for the snow storm.\u00a0\u00a0 Also pumped the collecting tank into the storage tank.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Worked all day on getting wood from the woodshed into the syrup building so we would not have to walk outside as much during the storm.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n
By 4:00 PM it was snowing pretty good.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 But we were snug and cozy in the syrup building.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We had everything battened down for the storm.\u00a0 We had a supply of wood already in the building.\u00a0\u00a0 The steam from the evaporator keeps the building warm.\u00a0 We just cooked away.\u00a0 Took three batches off the evaporator and into the milk can.\u00a0 One milk can is now full and we are starting a second.\u00a0 We are hoping to bottle tomorrow if we can get help.\u00a0 And we will need bottles soon.\u00a0 We were waiting to ship the bottle order at the same time as the R\/O.\u00a0\u00a0 But with the R\/O delay we have to have the bottles shipped now.<\/p>\n
Back at the house by 7:45 PM.\u00a0\u00a0 The big tank has about 6\u201d.\u00a0 The smaller tank is full.\u00a0 Tomorrow night is forecast to go down to 15 so we want to cook until all tanks are empty tomorrow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
