It did not freeze last night.\u00a0 It was mostly cloudy all day although the sun made a few brief appearances. The sky was clear when we came back in from the woods.\u00a0 The forecast was for rain so again they got it incorrect.\u00a0\u00a0 It was up to about 38.<\/p>\n
Into the woods by 8:30 AM to boil.\u00a0 The goal for the day was to empty all the storage tanks.\u00a0 Made it.\u00a0 But it was 11:30 PM before we got back the house.\u00a0 That’s another 15 hour day.\u00a0 The past seven days have been the season’s rush.\u00a0 We collected and boiled 1240 gallon of sap.\u00a0 We did not bottle yesterday.\u00a0 The focus was boiling.\u00a0 We did get three visitors. \u00a0<\/p>\n
We finally found a radio station we like.\u00a0\u00a0 We started with\u00a0 70’s rock\/metal.\u00a0 Not that we really liked it, but it was that or country.\u00a0\u00a0 Yesterday we found a more modern rock\/pop station.\u00a0 The station plays current music with a tilt toward the pop side.\u00a0 Still its more lively which helps the time pass.\u00a0\u00a0 Almost makes you want to dance away the time between firing in what we would call \u201cThe Maple Dance Party.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 Does the wood fire under the evaporator count as glow sticks?<\/p>\n
