{"id":150,"date":"2009-03-08T03:11:32","date_gmt":"2009-03-08T03:11:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.mapleacres.com\/?p=150"},"modified":"2009-03-08T03:11:32","modified_gmt":"2009-03-08T03:11:32","slug":"first-collecting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mapleacres.com\/?p=150","title":{"rendered":"First Collecting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There was sap today.\u00a0 We picked up two tanks of 200 gallons, 400 gallons total.\u00a0 If we would have been fully tapped by Wednesday the 4th we would have had a lot more sap.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We got the storage tanks ready and the evaporator too.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We actually started the evaporator about 3:00 pm to start boiling the sap we collected.<\/p>\n<p>The snow is still a challenge.\u00a0\u00a0 Its so loose.\u00a0\u00a0 The tractor struggles to get traction.\u00a0 We put the tractor into 2nd gear, gun the throttle and hang on for rough ride.\u00a0 Its a good thing we can steer using the brakes.
